Small, quick and dirty.

  1. This video shows the Firecracker with 3 pots. The texture would be the 20k trimpot replaced by a surface mounted pot?

    1. Can't say for sure as that trimmer is used to bias the MOSFET.

    2. I've asked the guy on his YT page. I'll get back to you with his answer.

    3. In that video, the texture pot sounds like its just adding or taking away bass. Perhaps its an input cap blend?

    4. Turns out it's completely different pedal. here's what the builder says;
      "The name I came up with myself, had no clue someone had done it before I did. The schematics you gave is a completely different thing, someone else's idea. The trimpot there is setting the transistor bias I think.

      This one has three stages, one is a preamp, the second one is one-pot tone control (texture knob) and the last one is the actual distortion."

    5. Makes sense. The schematic i did this from is signed by Andrew Carrell and it's dated march 2005.

  2. you can tag this one. its verified. one thing though, i think the capacitor off of the drain should be 100nf, not 10nf? i set the bias at 4.5v and that sounded good to me. sounds pretty good for such a little thing. worth the few minutes it takes to build it.
