Ibanez BN5 - Black Noise

Lethal, rough-edged industrial distortion at its most extreme-the sound of a small amp overdriven way past the limits. Our heaviest, most intense, and just plain loudest distortion pedal.

  2. Lol! I have one of these lying around at home. Always thought it sounded like shit and never gave it a chance. I played around with it a couple of days ago, though, and have started to revise my opinion a bit. With my LP:s dirty neck pickup it produces some fun, farty sounds like a broken speaker cabinet.

  3. Ok setting us firmly on the road to 500 - verified! A very bass heavy distortion, high gain, like Tac Dibar said kind of farty broken speaker-ish but in a good way. I think I still prefer the Mockman from yesterday though.

    1. Great! Thank you!

      I'll tag it right away.

Check the slam punk comments for a few mod ideas :)

    2. Thanks, is it just me or are these just exactly the same circuit with a grand total of 6 cap/res changes? Lazy, lazy Ibanez. They should go into the boutique pedal business ;)

    3. I've just tried it with the MPSA14's you suggested and it really fuzzes up in a nice way. I think for guitar you'd need to lower the input cap back to the 68n of the Slam Punk as it's way too heavy even on a Telecaster, it's perfect for Bass as is though. Thanks again dude.

    5. Yeah, they may not be too fashionable but they've got it going on under the hood.
