MXR Commande Overdrive

This makes it 98. Been one hell of a month in so many ways. Before i figure out what to draw as number 100 (yeah, you're right - we'll need two more after that, since there's two notification posts this month), i thought i draw up something that apparently is the worst overdrive pedal in the whole stompbox history. MXR has made one set of plastic boxes, that doesn't get any praise anywhere. Or i haven't just found any.. This is the overdrive from that set. Schematic suggests that it's pretty basic overdrive design with some out-of-the-box thinking. Someone with open mind should build it and tell us if it is really that bad... :)

    Holy $hit, I found one of these just about 6 months ago, it was lying in the boot of a car my brother in law bought. Deffo one of the worst pieces of crap I ever heard. The only decent sound I got out of it was the sound it made hitting the bottom of the bin. Oh, and there are actually 3 notifications this month

      Yeah, but deleting 1 brings the count down by 1 too :-), and 1 layout is on hold so technically that don't count ;-)

      Deleting 1 brings the count down by one so we still have to do the same number, but it makes his post about 2 notifications correct! He's a tech support guy so he had to be right! haha

    well, sounds like i guess i better build the mofo and see if it sucks as bad as legend has it. IvIark, gotta schematic bro? i was gonna start the causality today, but i can do this up quick...

      Nice on Jimi. Miro did this layout and I don't appear to have the scheme. I'm sure he'll post when he sees this.

      I recall trying to build this, but the signal died at the second channel of the opamp. I debugged it for a while but simply gave up at some point. Let me know how it goes.

    This is one of my favorite drive pedals. Use it on any of my 60's & 70's vintage British tube amps. Of course it's for adults only.

    this is a great sounding overdrive pedal with cheap plastic input/output jacks and plastic case. I've been using them since they came out in the 70's. Been through a few of em, they are great for a vintage tone.
