Elka Dizzy Tone

   This is a sweet sounding fuzz. The circuit is very similar to the Buzzaround.

    1. Why not? 19 columns and 8 rows should totally fit into a 1590B box. I would even think it would fit into an 1590A with using all low profile components.

    3. when you get pots in there and ned to bend over trannies , it gets real tight ...real tight ..looks so much nicer in a 125b or a bb ..if you notice the top end retailers all use 125's or old school wedges for size purposes

    4. This is a very easy fit in a 1590B and I'm not stopping you from putting it in a 125B or whatever enclosure you like :P

      I already have a verified axial layout drawn but it doesn't really fit in with the way we do things on this blog. The larger axial caps make this too wide to fit in anything smaller than a 1590BB really

    6. alright, I would love to see a finished picture. curious to see how you place the vero on top of 3 pots , with two jacks and room for a battery and a switch , looking at my analogman and lumpy's tone shop pedals, they are all in 125 and my other boutiques are in wedges .I do have a mini beano booster in a 1590a from analogman but its a tight fit and that is just a minimal rm on terminal strip and point to point ..you must cut the leads off the trannies to almost nil, or I am curious to see how you bend the over as so the lod doesnt short anything out.

      a few pics of previous builds or whatever would work ..love to see your tight placement of parts.

      doesnt matter..If I use a 125b for any build i can always stretch out the rows myself. have to admit your website has made me lazy and dependent on you serving me up my layouts.

    10. Hi Rascal, Travis is, as you say, one of the very best. If it helps any, you can fit much bigger boards than this in a 1590B enclosure. This board is 19x8. You can fit a 21x18 board if you are careful, and still have room for a 9V battery. I know this as I have just done it.

    3. I used russian T308, MP20 or MP16 (low gains) for Q1 and 2. But if I remember correctly these were not that important for sound. For Q3 I used SFT308 (hfe 110). Q3 was important for more sustain, lower hfe resulted in more gating.

      Original transistor had low hfe for Q1 and Q2 (50) and hfe 70 for Q3. But hfe90 on Q3 caused too much gating/low sustain in my build. Maybe if I lower Q1andQ2 I could use lower hfe for Q3?

  6. Q3 emitter needs connection to Ground and you can call it verified! Sounds good to my ears -- buzzy and blown-out. Made some mods per Buzzotron specs: Swapped 25uF electros with 100uF for power filtering cap and 22uF for the rest. Also upped output caps to 100n and 220n. Used B10K for "Balance," B100K for "Attack," A100K for "Sustain." Cool!
