    1. Yep, a lot of people prefer them to the 1N4148 or 1N914

  2. Nice. Tag it. I used 1N4007s for clipping and TO-18 2N2222As for the transistors. Cool little fuzz with some background noise that will probably tame down when it gets in to a box. With 7 lugs wide, this will need a BB box :)

I'm starting to get in to the tagboards.. It is just always too easy to use mojo axials with them :)

    1. Excellent stuff. What are you using for your board? 7 columns with the tagboard I'm using will easily fit in a 1590B. That's one thing I like about this kind of build, depending on what you use you can get it to virtually any width. I bought a lot of lengths of walnut which was being sold by an eBay seller specialising in cabinet repair. Using that and some 4mm eyelets which you can get for pennies on eBay and you have a fantastic way of making up the boards. Plus I prefer using eyelets to tags to be honest, you don't have to bend the leads around to try to coax them in, just bend both ends 90 degrees at the correct width and drop it in the holes.

It is kind of big with 56mm in height, but it being so robust makes it even more appealing. 7 Tags makes 70mm in width and 56mm in height :) 56mm is very tight fit in B even in vertical.

I think i need to get me some eyelets to try out..

This is the tagboard I use which is great to keep the width down but there's probably not enough separation making it more awkward with bigger components. Eyelets are the future! :o)
