Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. The TC7662B-based charge pump I used was actually a voltage inverter, providing +V and -V. So if there is no -V power rail in the schematic, then no charge pump is used in that pedal.
Yes, an SPDT on-off-on switch is essentially a drop in replacement if all you want are the fully CW, fully CCW, and 12:00 settings. To get more variance, you can add a pot in series with the switch - this will let you set the amount of saturation & compression.
Alex thanks for posting this. So fast! Doesn't this also use the charge pump?
ReplyDeleteNope, there is no charge pump on the Alpha Dog.

In their tech specs they mention you can plug a 9V up to 18V power supply.
ReplyDeleteNo charge pump.
ReplyDeleteI'll try this . You will do the blues king ? Thank you.
It worked.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the original that i have.
For hard and soft i used switch in place of pot.
Thank you
Thanks Rodrigo!
DeleteHi Rodrigo, what kind of switch? Can you explain? :-)
DeleteSPDT switch.
DeleteSimply connected to hard 1-2-3 and to soft 1-2-3 instead of pots?

DeleteVery smart and effective - like the old Alpha Dog version, I guess... Thank you both!
DeleteIs there a sub available for the W1m? Could a linear taper be OK to use?
