You can find all infos and pcb on his website.
There is also a layout for his new Sentient Machine on our Forum/Contributions section.
Here are two videos for v. 2.0 and v.1 to give you an idea until a new video will be recorded:
Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. Enjoy the builds and please also visit us on Facebook and Twitter
Nice one Alex, great job. Just need to get a 4070 to build this.
ReplyDeleteFreppo & Alex you are real punk Rock in a world full of TSers. Michi thanks.
ReplyDeleteDoes it matter if any of the IC's are buffered or un-buffered (BE vs. UBE)? I know sometimes it matters, but maybe not in this case? Thanks for the layout!
ReplyDeleteUse 4070BE, 4024BE and 4069UBE (4069 is only avaliable as unbuffered)
DeleteFredrik should be able to answer your question.
ReplyDeleteHe used 4070BE, 4024BE and 4069UBE.
You can buy all those from Tayda.
Sorry for for additional question, but for the DPDT switch, i just want the ON/ON, correct?
ReplyDeleteIt is On/On.
ReplyDeleteAny suggestions for a good source of vactrols?
ReplyDeleteBanzai in berlin, germany has wide selection, but the prices are through the roof since the manufacturing has seized. Due to that, i'd recommend rolling your own. Red LED with Excelitas LDR cell should do it.

Now we'll only need a reliable source for 50M, 5M and 1M LDRs... :)
+m
I've never used LDRs so I'm a bit ignorant on them... would these from Tayda be sufficient (gut says "no", but i gotta ask anyway)? http://www.taydaelectronics.com/resistors/photoresistors/photo-conductive-cell-resistor-ldr-650nm-radial-ke-10720.html
DeleteIt's funny, but before I knew anything I happened to order some LDRs I saw online. They have all worked in everything I have made (maybe 5 different projects). I even just finished the dreaded Mutron III - all you need to do is match them up with an LED. It works best if you take a piece of shrink wrap, bend the LDR over to a right angle and put it right alongside the LED. Then shrink the tubing.
DeleteIf you get distortion it is usually because the LED is to bright, so use a trimpot or resistor to bring down the brightness.
I am not sure which model I got but it seems to work on everything because it has a wide range and I think most of them have ranges that overlap to great degree. Just google this "Light Dependent Resistor Photoresistor" and hit "shopping" and you will see all the different ranges offered on eBay. There is really nothing to it, you just have to put it together.
What you posted should work, but that is expensive. You can get them for $.05 - cents
I tried putting the cheap tayda LDRs in my Gigahearts Doubel Ganger (Lovetone Doppelganger clone) and the depth was so weak. I swapped in the recommended LDRs from small bear and it's so lush. They don't even tell you the light/dark range on the tayda ones.

3 6?
This looks like the most fun. Thanks Alex and Fredrik
Both verified! I'm really liking this and the adition of the modboard really makes even better. Thanks Alex n Freppo.
ReplyDeleteBrotherleech that is the correct layout for a DPDT
DeleteThanks gavin. I'd actually already built it as it was a past minute birthday present so I just took a punt. I didn't do the modboard but seriously, what a pedal! I'm making one for myself now.
DeleteThanks Gavin!
DeleteI already had V1 but given I had nothing else to do V2 was a cool little exercise. Thanks Freppo for all your cool work!

Awesome looking build! Thanks for sharing! :)
DeleteI'm only counting 20 links on the main board... Is there something that I'm missing here?? Diagram says there should be 21.
ReplyDeleteYou might not be counting the double link under the 4069 as two links?
ReplyDeletestupid question but ive made the mod board and connected it and it works but unsure where i9 hook the ground to the led on the mod board to it seems to only pulse when i touch the mod board
ReplyDeleteWhat´s the effect of the modboard here?
ReplyDeleteVersion 2.0 suppose gate the LFO ticking when LFO is ON and guitar signal is absent. However I still get LFO ticking (Rate LED diode blinks as well) when LFO is ON and guitar signal is absent. Is it normal behaviour of 2.0 version?
ReplyDeleteCan this daughter board be added to version 1 of the Arcadiadtor?
ReplyDeletewhat kind of readings should i get from the ldr of the vactrol? i'm either not hooking it up right or there is something wrong with my mod board. i have connected the ldr leads to width 1/2 and width 3. it just sounds like the width pot is maxed out and no modulation. i don't have an oscilloscope but, depending on the vactrol i use, i am getting roughly 2k to 5k on my multimeter. should it be higher?
