  2. I think the guy who came up with the circuit (allesz on FSB) used BC319's in his original layout, but it's probably worth checking it out with any NPN silicon you have in a variety of gain ranges, and choosing your favourite. SO it may be a good idea to socket the connections so you can easily swap and change. Good luck with the build.

  3. Verified, although the gain pot is in reverse, should be ground to lug 3, emitter to lugs 1&2. Nice effect for such a simple circuit, i tried it with various transistors and settled on a 2n5088 (remember to insulate legs and twist to match pinout). Not much of a clean boost, just above unity, but a nice variety of dirt as you wind the gain pot up.Ca Deffo worth the build. You may want to consider converting to vero as this is a very worthwhile beginners build.

  4. Quick update, my nephew "borrowed" my pedal then promptly disappeared on the gig circuit for 3 months a couple of weeks ago. In those two weeks I've had 17 requests from guys on the circuit for this pedal. All 17 are built and shipped so should be assaulting ears all over the country soon:-) to facilitate building so many I converted the tag board layout to a 10x8 vero layout, I've also added a 3pdt switch so I can now switch between 2 different transistors, high/low gain range for a little more versatility (cos 3 switches are never enough) now I'm gonna look into switching between v1 & v2. ;-)

    1. Awesome. You simply can't get a higher recommendation than musicians wanting the pedal. Great stuff.

  9. Hello all,
I'n new to this diy pedal building stuff and I was wondering what that 3 small blue rectangles are. Can somebody help me?
Other thing is, what software did you use do build the drawing?
Is is possible to easyly convert it into a PCB?
