I've put the Mid Freq switch components on a separate board to make it easier to box it.
Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. Enjoy the builds and please also visit us on Facebook and Twitter

Baja is certainly belting a few out over at FSB!
ReplyDeleteverified! sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tim!
DeleteHello, My question is regarding this circuit, this is a preamp pedal is that correct? Thanks
DeleteHi! What kind of inductors have you use in tris proyect? I am not sure, and I don’t find anyone in any online shop.
ReplyDeleteThanks for helping me!
And you mean microhenries or millihenries?
ReplyDeleteThanks a Lot!
m is mili. u is micro

ReplyDeleteAnyone care to comment on the differences between this layout vs Baja's Rev2 over at FSB?
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at both, and quite honestly, they both look easy enough to build!
i'm pretty sure this layout is based on rev 2.
Deleterev 2? I can only find rev 1 on the original thread?? where is rev 2?
DeleteAnyone know if I can safely switch out the 2Sk117 for a BS170? 2Sk117’s are scare

ReplyDeleteIt's very hardware for me to find The 1u18 capacitor, anyone knows where i can find?
ReplyDeleteNone of the other components have that tight of a tolerance: I mean, try finding a coil with 1% tolerance. So 1u2 will likely be precise enough.
DeleteI tried some 1u2 capacitors on a tester and one was almost 1u18...
I need to learn how to edit. However, the freestompboxes rev1 version shows you need A50K pots for bass and treble. In you schem you show A5K pots, which is right?
ReplyDeleteI gather "Rev1" means the 010418 drawing, and "Rev 2" is the later 050418 drawing. The earlier drawing shows 100kA pots for Bass and Treble, and the later shows 50kA pots. It's a fair bet that the pots are intended to be 50kA and Alex's layout has a typo. :)
DeleteI also would like to know which is right between A5K and A50K pots.
ReplyDeleteI know this is an old thread but any help would be greatly appreciated! Im getting a constant high pitch sound from my treble, so much that the ultra high switch is pretty much unusable. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
ReplyDeleteWhat is CLR in the layout?
ReplyDeleteCurrent limiting resistor for the led
Delete4.7k is usually a safe bet!
This should be able to take 12v though, should it, as long as the caps are rated 25v and over?
ReplyDeleteYes no problem, I think the ICs can handle a 36V swing so as long as the caps are up to the job it'll work fine
DeleteThanks for that.
DeleteDoes anyone else have a noticeable drop in volume when switching the 'Ultra Low' on?
ReplyDeleteQuestion to all of commetators: is any one can share with sound samples? I especially interested in finger style and picked.
ReplyDeleteFor guitar right?
