Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. Enjoy the builds and please also visit us on Facebook and Twitter
could you make a tagboard for this one? http://www.getlofi.com/wp-content/uploads/tdomf/4211/noise567_604.gif
and i'm thinking of building this one into the pedal, so if you could make a tagboard of this, i would really appreciate that http://personal.inet.fi/koti/holmberg/images/simpleosc.gif
Of course you don't need make these layouts if you don't want to. thanks
I can have a look but it may take a while, I've got a queue of things I'm up to at the moment. Looking at both though I'd say that they're much more suited to stripboard layouts than turret.
Hi. Its in a word, fantastic. Ive used loads of delays but I really love this one. Perhaps cos I made it. The repeats are really dirty, but its cool. So ambient and atmospheric.
Its restored my faith in PT.
Dont spose you know anyone local that etches PCBs I could myther for a Little Angel board...seems that they dont work well on Vero but ive not idea why not.
I don't know anyone locally, but have a word with John Lyons on DIY Stompboxes. He'll etch anything and is pretty reasonably priced if I remember correctly
Cool I will give him a message. Thanks. Seems a shame to waste those components. I might make another delay some time - bought a handful of PTs from Futurlec that just came in. I need to send you back your PT chip can you message me your return address please? via DIY, or my blog. Thanks.
Just built this and the bass is flabby and the drive sounds harsh. I used all the correct values except for the 200p cap.. all I had was a 220p. How much of a difference would this make?
220p is fine, if anything it should make it less harsh than a 200p. Assuming everything else is correct, sometimes the effects simply don't suit the rig. My favourite distortion pedal ever (Zoom HL01 - yes I know that's bizarre but just try one!) sounds utter crap with my most used amp, but absolutely awesome with all my other amps.
is this a copy of something else out there? made a google search and this one appear when searching for xotic bb preamp. altho im not very good in seeing similarities!

ReplyDeleteMark, what is the value of the "mids" pot, it isn't on the sheet?
ReplyDeleteSorry Mike, I should have been a bit clearer with that. The Mids is a two position single pole mini toggle switch as in this pic:

ReplyDeleteIt's a Guvnor with a simplified tone control, so it's basically a Lovepedal Crunchbox. You didn't expect anything original from Sean did you? :o)
Deleteisnt the crunch box a mix of a ocd and a bluesbreaker. thats what i always thought it was lol
