Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. Enjoy the builds and please also visit us on Facebook and Twitter

ReplyDeleteI see they put a mix control in at some point. Also note they talk about a 12v supply.
I think it is just an added clean blend circuit.
DeleteYou could supply 9V or 12V if you want.
I'll add a layout.
Damn youre quick Alex!
DeleteAlbin at Moody Sounds in Sweden has other really cool and "strange" effects, check out www.moodysounds.com

ReplyDeleteBuilt it and it works, thank-you!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate!
DeleteYes, definitely verified!
ReplyDeleteSounds great with growling low mids, a bit on the fuzzy side, but not too much, very Orange-y.
A keeper.
Hi, Challenge for someone...I'm building this one but i'm short of the A250k pot, I've got an A100k or A500K, could I change a value of one of the resistors so I can use one of the pots I already have?
ReplyDeleteGot any B500Ks? One of those and 510K (or another, close to 500K) resistor between lugs 1&3 in addition to the wires would yield A250K...
Delete+m
Awesome, thanks dude
DeleteAh bugger... lugs 2&3 are joined together, should that still work? Not getting any sweep at all?
DeleteHey! Built the one with the Blend. It's a pretty good drive with gain lowered. Built this in the same enclosure with an ''always on'' Sadowsky Preamp

Hi Alex,
ReplyDeleteI built the hjart muller but i can't get any od or distortion sound from it, when i turn the pedal on i get the same sound that it has in bypass, but without basses.
Can you give me any advice to make it work? Thank you
Which layout did you build?
DeleteWith or without the Blend pot?
What are your TL071's voltages?
Never mind Alex, I discovered that they sent me a kit with a 1nf cap instead of the 1uf cap.
DeleteI put the right cap and now it works!
I built the one without the blend pot and I have to say it's a very very great pedal :)
Anyway, thank you for answering so quickly :D
Hi and thank you for the realese.
ReplyDeleteI built the one with blend and it's great bat the dry side of the blend seem to be poor in bass and high tones. Can you help me?

ReplyDeleteHi built and tested the bled version with different Jfet and clipping diode:to my taste it sounds better using green super bright LED's,BF245 for blend circuit. If you are searching for a fuzzy creamy tone you could go for it, if you like for a more tubey overdrive you'd better search elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteHi, does someone notice a loud pop when engaging the effect? It's unusable.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about some DC leakage from a capacitor but I want to check if someone is in the same situation
I have built this a couple time and have not had any problems with popping.
DeleteHello, I have built two and none of them have worked, the pedal turns on, but i can't get any od or distortion from it. I don't know why, since I have built them following the indications. I read a little above that a person had the same problem as me, that the pedal turns on but does not generate OD and that I solve using the corresponding capacitor, in this case the 1uf, I don't know if it is the capacitor that I am using It's tantalum, I imagine it could be that but im not pretty sure, can anybody help me with this?
