Request. Jeez YA"MF"BM!!  But this time with added Depth and Mids controls so at least it offers something a bit different.

    1. :) Aaaah. I remember that feeling. It's warm and fuzzy. But with over 75 finished clones it's not that often that i get excited any more. That's a bit sad..

But this still makes it's way to my "should build" folder instead of "nah" folder...

    2. yeah, i've only built only a few more than 55 clones, so i guess i'm still at the 'excitable' stage. ;-)

  2. Reverse the mids and depth, then tag it.

I'm planning to box this with my recently finished "Crackle Not OK", and then call it "Large Hardon Collider". :)

No matter if you replace all the resistors of a BMP with pots - it's still a BMP. First time i'm using 1N4001s for clipping and it doesn't impress me that much. This one sounds exactly like what it is. A modernized BMP. Nice addition to a collection, but can't see myself in love with this.

Other note.. Linear pot for volume might give you a better control...

  3. built this one today. i installed a switch to select between the two 1N4001's and two green leds (which are louder, less distorted and have more mids than the silicon diodes), only to find that the new supercolliders have that switch built-in stock now. i think that it's a nice option. all you have to do is to not solder in the 4001's on the board, but instead run two leads from their rows (the ones above and below the 9V lead) to the middle connections (2 & 5) on a DPDT toggle. then mount the two leds on one side and the two 1n4001's on the other to switch between them.

  5. I built this last night, fired right up, and sounds great! I noticed that there's a difference in components compared to the scematic on the Kit Rae site. There's a third 470p instead of the 100p and a secod 10uf tantalum. I really like the sound of this though! Thanks

  7. I've just built this one and it doesnt work.. I checked at least 3 times whole built, if everything is on right place and if i drilled the vero right .. everything seems ok. Offboard wiring i did via this http://i.imgur.com/rkSwlon.gif (I have built 2 pedals and this offboard wiring always worked) .. If plug in guitar, sounds go through when it is turned off (bypass) .. when i turn on the fuzz it doesnt do anything.. (so i tried to switch wires Tip and Sleeve on jacks .. then it does some really quiet fuzz or maybe noise) .. Can anybody help me please? Some ideas?

  8. The build sounds great. It's a higher gain green Muff with effective tone controls. The depth pot works very well for guitar. It's also the quietest BMP variant I've built.

I used a 10uf for the output cap as I've seen it like that everywhere else.

    1. Does it only seem to me that the Mass knob works only in the last quarter? I don't fell any change until the last quarter's.
