Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. Black Arts Toneworks Oath
Essentially the oath is the Black Arts Revelation Superbass without any knobs. After VisualFuzz found an image of the Oaths board, and having to enhancing it to see the resistor values without the image being distorted I'm pretty certain that I've got the values and placements for the resistors to replace the pots.
Since the Oath and the Ritual (as part of the One-Knob-Fuzz-Bonanza) are online, one can build the Destroyer, which is just one fed into the other (not sure about which is first in line), as well.

i don't see why not. that's the issue is knowing which one goes first. you could easily do it with 2 boards and an order switch so you can change which one goes first.
DeleteI put one together using the Ritual from here once the Revelation was figured out. I also put an FX order switch. It's worth it to make the full Revelation with all the controls so you don't miss out on the fine tuning when stacked, or volume matching when not. They sound heavy together, as you can imagine, yet not so noisy that it's unusable.
DeleteVerified. fun build and nice doom ish tones. thanks for the layout
Deletecheers man. good job on the verification.
Deleterevised the layout. i flipped the input cap to reflect the way it is in the pharaoh. i believe the schematic had it flipped by accident.
DeleteIs Q1 botom left?
ReplyDeleteThis is a really nice little build, many thanks. But which trannie is q1? Funny thing is works nicely in both positions...
ReplyDeleteIt's the one in the lower left. Didn't realize I did t liable the transistors. I'll go back and add the labels.
Deleteadded the transistor layout, and did the same to the two revelation layouts.
ReplyDeleteWhich part of the circuit can I change to have a slightly less loud fuzz?
ReplyDeleteAnd I guess that the 'Gain' is the ground?

ReplyDeletebuilt the oath with the ritual in the same enclosure, aka destroyer. When the oath is engaged, it is way too loud.....i tried to reverse the order but the same problem occurs. will a simple potentiometer at the output of the oath do the trick?
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get 6k resistor? I don't have any and i can't seem to find any from the regular sources. The closest i have are 5.8k and 6.2k
ReplyDeletei made this with three 2n5088's as part of a Destroyer clone (Ritual+Oath). the resulting Oath tone i got is as bass forward as the youtube demo above, but with less gain. i also had to jumper the 470k resistor on the input and used a 6.8k resistor instead of the 6k.
