Frequency Central Red Star Drive

A real nice booster/overdrive that's basically has a submini tube that replaced the transistor create by frequency central over at DIYSB, schematic. Make sure you are rated at least 25V due to the pedal running +12V.

  1. Hi Zach. I think the layouts are posted backwards. The top one is labeled Symmetrical but is in fact Asymmetrical (I think) while the 2cd is the opposite. Sorry! Hate to be the messenger.
    As always ....
Very grateful for all your work that you share with us. Especially since you have exams coming up ... Good Luck!
Don't know how you manage it,
    Will

  2. Asymmetrical is verified using Raytheon tube. Used 1n4148 diodes. Very light drive as in the description. May try some swaps. Also used a 9v-18v voltage doubler with a 12v regulator getting about 11.8v close enough for rock and roll! Thanks a ton Zach!

    1. sweet, that means both should be verified, since the only real difference is the diodes. cheers on the verification.
