Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. DeadAstronautFX Space Patrol Fuzz
Deadastronaut's version of the Big Muff.
Original DIY thread and schematic are available here.
There's also another great layout by Mug in the Forum section.
That pic looks wrong according to the deadastronaut wiring. Follow the link to the thread and use deadastronauts layout for wiring the switch my good man.
i etched a PCB for this one about a year ago and i gotta say, it was well woth the build! here's a pic of mine: http://johnkvintageguitars.homestead.com/Effects/Fuzz-ODs/DeadAstronaut/SpacePatrolFuzz-01.jpg
Hi gents, im having troubles with position 4 or the most clockwise position on the 3p4t. It completely shorts the circuit out, even the batt light on my test box goes out... anyone else having issue?
Right. Well i think i have found my issue. There are 2 different versions of how to wire this. Someone posted a picture of the 3p4t and had shifted all the lugs round by one. I was watching the video thinking hang on a mo, this dosent sound right. My pos 1 sound like pos 2 in the vid and so forth. For anyone wanting correct wiring follow the link to the thread and deadastronaut has posted a layout pic and there you will find the wiring layout. Phew.
Hello, If we realize the wiring of the 3pt4 following the picture and not sum deadstronaut The positions must work the same it is just what will be reversed no?
basically, gain pot and volume are both in some sense "volume" pot, so should be logarithmic :) with logarithmic pot as volume you can get more accuracy
hi there, built this and it sounds great... however, i can't hear much difference between switch positions 1 and 3... could somebody point me in the direction of what i would have to change to get another sound on, say, pos.3? maybe a diode change?
Aarrrrggghhh!!!!! Not another thing to build!!!!
ReplyDeleteI made the Deadastronaut tremshifter recently and it is awesome.
Thanks guys, Awesome work as ever.
Ditto on the TremShifter. I bought the PCB from DeadAstronaut. Amazing sounds with that design.
Deleteany tips for wiring 3p4t switch? is there a common numbering system?
ReplyDeleteThey are usually written on the switch.

Not sure it makes much difference, but in DA's layout all three pots are 100k linear

DeleteAnyone have a schematic?
ReplyDeleteBUILT IT AND IS ALL BOXED UP THIS SICK LITTLE PUPPY IS VERIFIED
ReplyDeleteIs there any other switch I could use instead of the 3p4t?
