Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. DOD FX25 Envelope Filter
Schematic available here.
Added a second layout with Mark Hammer's mods from the DIY forum (here).
I just finished the modded version and gave it a test on my bass. The effect seems to work ok and the controls respond. When the effect hits the hardest though, there is a more than noticeable distortion there. I used a LM13600 in lieu of an 13700 though, maybe that is to blame. I'll try ordering some. In the meanwhile I will try fiddling around with Mark's mods and try to get a better effect. Thanks for the layout!
If this filter pedal isn't sensitive enough (I know mine wasn't - the sensitivity knob was at full all of the time) then change D2 for a 1N34 or OA90 Ge diode. Sorted.
is there a working link for this schematic? this ones givin' me the 404 vibes... and this ones all good? ive found a million and five schematics online for envelope filters and most i have issues with for one reason or another. thanks up front.
thank you for schematic!
ReplyDelete(Flea from RHChP, hope it will sound the same)

Can a 13700 be used instead of a 13600? As always, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think you can.

ReplyDeleteSorted.
"moded" version - will it sound the same as original in the first position of the toggle?
ReplyDeleteNow, is this verified or not?

ReplyDeleteCan i use a regular B100K instead of the 100K trimpot?
ReplyDeleteI made this moded version. Works fine. I used NE5532 instead 1458 and NE5517 instead LM13600.
