Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. Wampler Hot Wired v.1
Original FSB thread and schematic available here.
These are 2 separate effects in one box.
Follow Mark's Dual Offboard Wiring.
23/11/2017 Layout Updated! Added the 2 Inputs caps.
Yes. Look at the 5532 data sheet also. It also says farther down that vcc- is the negative supply. In this case ground. But the can vcc- can be negative in relation to ground also but often not in guitar pedals
For those playing at home, this is the Brent Mason OD/Distortion. Thanks again Alex for another cool pedal to build!
ReplyDeletecan i replace 4580 for 4585 or NE5532 ?
ReplyDeleteYou should try any dual opamp with that same pinout to see what you like.

thanks, so pin 4 on 4580 datasheet is vcc- who is equals to Gnd pin 4 on NE5532 right?

Exactly. Most dual opamps can be used with "+9V/ground with reference voltage" or "+9V/-9V with ground as reference".
DeleteAlso, should be noted that most dual opamps share the same pinout.

Thanks both
Deleteis there a replacement for the 25k rev. pot?
ReplyDeletecan I use a 25K lin instead?
Yep. It's just that the taper might feel odd, but using a linear pot will be better than a log pot.
DeleteVerified! Nice distortion. Thanks Alex!
