Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. Dunlop DB-1 Dimebag Crybaby
The original Dimebag wah, not the newer one, which will take a while to get done cause the board is completely different and based on the newer Q535 crybaby.
very nice layout. It funny i started modding a wah 2 years ago played with all the caps and main eq resistors.these wah layouts are all 95 percent the same pretty much . Its kind of funny with tolerences what they used to be these could all just be the same wah wah ha ha.Thanks Zach nice additions to the forum.
Very true. The amazing thing about the this style way circuit is that little component changes make massive differences. As I find the other ones I'll end up changing the layout again and make a new post for it. It's good and bad to do it this way, but I figure at least they'll be easy to find, then to make one big post with them all. Although I'm going to make one big post for just the generic vintage wahs like Original crybaby, vox grey, boomerang, colorsound, and I think one more that I can't remember.
Zach you are a machine, thank you. I have a lot of respect for all of you who contribute layouts and advice here. This site is one of the major resources for diy pedal builders like myself and I don't think the community would be nearly as rich without it. Thanks to Mark and everyone involved in this place, you have made a massive difference to my life. Cheesy but it had to be said. Sorry, rant over.
so, the 100k wah-pot is the gear pot right? and, if I want to add sweep-board like the GBC-95 modded layout do, just swap the Q3 10n cap to sweep-board and rotory sw, is it?
Isn't there a small mistake in the sweep? Shouldn't there be a cut just before the 10k right of the inductor and sweep 2&3 and Wah 1 to ground? Else you do not get and variable emmiter resistance to q3, but just an extention to the wahpot. Or am I mistaken?
Built this and works great~ built with the sweep board mod from the GBC-95 modded layout, that's very useful mod for wah, thanks so much for the layout. here some shots share: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Tz4IhxPPaYaWMmzD3
Ok I'm brand new here and want to make this circuit. My question is all the stuff to the side like wah 1 and output etc ...does that refer to another diagram? I'm not sure hot to build that part of the circuit
Welcome to the builders world! Those numbers refer to the pins on the potentiometer, but I would advise that you first read the "build guide" section on this site an the "Offboard" section. Those will take you through the basics. https://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2012/02/offboard-wiring.html https://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2012/04/vero-build-guide.html

Yes to both questions. Just wire up the switch and cap daughterboard as I have it on the modded GBC-95 and you should be good to go.
Deletethanks very much.

ReplyDeletenope, you're right. made the correction and moved some things to make wiring it up easier too.
DeleteNE1 know a good address for the non standard inductors (eg. 535mH, 250mH etc.)??
DeleteBuilt this and works great~

Is it necessary to use film caps or are ceramics ok to use?
ReplyDeleteCeramics are absolutely fine
DeleteGracias, lo haré!
