Being so similar to Wylde Signature and GT-OD, i can understand why this one was still missing from the library. Well. Up the 100n to 220n-1µ from inverting input of the driver amp to VRef and swap the clippers for LEDs. Should be worth your while...
Hah I have one of these floating around in my studio. It's not very good but it could be modded to sound better. As it is it's a bit thin and fizzy
ReplyDeleteNice one. May have to give this one a go. Thanks guys for this website and all the work you do. I am relatively new to pedal building but must say i have truly found my passion/obsession.
ReplyDeletetag it Miro!
ReplyDeleteverified!
i didn't have any 1.8m resistors, so i've used 1.5m.
all pots working as they should.
my mates are planing an iron maiden tribute band(lol!), and i wanted to build a distortion+ cause i've read that that was what they had in their first steps!...so when i saw that today i said why not??lets see if my friend likes that!!
thanks man!
Awesome thanks for verifying matey
DeleteThis is really different to the Distortion +
ReplyDeleteYou should build them both to check it out

yes man....i know...i've build that with mods, months ago but i've burned it somehow!!!the first and only circuit that i've burned(don't know how!). i think i'll rebuild it!thanks!
Delete...you should try DOD 250 instead.
Delete+m
hi miro!
ReplyDeleteis that dod250 close to what i'm looking for?i thought that it was an overdrive.my friend is looking for a distortion with lots of treble.
this one (mxr distIII) is great but not much like maiden...
but the more i play with it the more i love it so i'll keep it for myself!!
i think i should build dod and the old mxr for my friend to taste and then box the best one.
anyway..
finally the working voltages
supply 9,00v
ic
1. 4,36
2. 6,2
3. 2,9

c. 8,72
(i don't remember how the pots where set so pin2 might look a bit hi. or am i wrong?)
Hello first time here i have build the schematic the voltages are similar to yours but i have no voltage on emmiter and base. I have checked all connections, but the outputt isnt what it should be
DeleteHi everybody,
ReplyDeletecoul'd i replace the MPS A14 for a MPS A13 ?
franck
Should be no problem.
ReplyDeletehi sorry i haven't seen your replie...
DeleteThx I try ! i'll tell you !
Franck
Good day, I don´t wamt to sound grumpy, but when gonna post new projects? I like to see more.
ReplyDeleteI'm on a bit of a sabbatical at the moment and having a break from it. I will be back before long but at the moment don't have much energy for it, and have got too many time consuming things taking up my time with my normal life.
DeleteI will definitely be back though, but don't want to put an estimate on when at this time. There should be plenty of projects to keep you busy in the meantime though, and I will be joining in the conversations and troubleshooting when I can.
Thanks for the reply. I hope to see more projects in no long, and also hope you enjoy the personal time and finish with success your things.
DeleteSaludos from Mexico.
Hi
ReplyDeletewhen you say outpout 2 to output you mean the output 2 pot is the output of the pc board ?
Franck
Lug 2 of the output aka volume pot is connected to the effect output lug of your bypass switch. This is the same on almost every circuit you'll build on here
ReplyDeleteDefinitely take a look at the offboard wiring tab on this site to answer all of your basic wiring questions
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but its not always clear for a newbies like me…
ReplyDeleteI' like the idea that my work will work at the first time ! before do a wrong think i ask ! :)
Franck
seriously I know nothing about electronics, may be just what is a resistor or a transistor or capacitor, but I've done a lot of pedals just the first problem asked me ... if you want to see, I'm on a stupid project, which was to fiare fair housing with materials recovery :) ... I'm printer, signmakers so I can tinker full of stuff ! I've used Dibond & plexi glass 3 mm…
ReplyDeletehere is the link :

Very cool. Any plans to print graphics on it?
ReplyDeletethats really fucking cool man.
DeleteThe project if finish ! Everything work really good…

-Tremolovox
-Phase 90 MXR
-Disto MXR III (realy cool)

The effects are all very good quality !
the next box at the next month…
Chorus, compressor, tremolo, disto, flanger… :)
See you laters guy,
Franck
Hi frank, did work with the MPS A14?
DeleteYes i have ! it"s a prototype and i do it without graphic, but when every things will be ok
ReplyDeleteI" will print them…
Franck
Hi,
ReplyDeleteis anybody try the JRC 4558 in replace to 33178 P ?
Ordered it but... It's coming along... i wait it since 4 weeks and i'n not to receive it in 2 weeks... :(
If somebody know about the really difference, please tell me...
Franck
HI,
Deletei've tried JRC 4558 at replace to the 33178 P
It's work ! look work good, but i don't know the really sound difference…
franck
Ok les Gars !!!
DeleteI watched the datashit the shema of 2646 , but I I've read backwards so the 've mounted the 2n2646 at reverse… Now it' good
Franck
Anyone have gut shots of this build? Id really appreciate it, im not getting any sound out of my pedal.
ReplyDeleteexplain me other time please i don't understand what yeoman !
DeleteHi Guys,
ReplyDeleteWill this work with a bass guitar?
no reason why not. you may need to do some tweaking to allow more bass frequencies to come in to make it more bass friendly.

ReplyDeleteHello everybody,
ReplyDeleteCan I replace MC33178p with MC33078N? Cannot find an MC33178p...
My other options would be an JRC4558 and a TL072CN.
What would you guys suggest?
Yes, you can use TL072CP or maybe OPA2134A. I just built this, sounds cool, but a little bit thin sound for me. I'll modify a little later.
DeleteI used some parts with not exactly thesame values as on the picture.
Hi everyone,
ReplyDeleteany idea how to connect an indicator LED?
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k5Sh68yVU18/TzGRFKbiALI/AAAAAAAAAlk/CbfaaduUjYQ/s1600/%21Offboard+wiring.png
DeleteJust made it. Couldn't find MPSA14, so MPSA13 was used, IC is 4558.
ReplyDeleteAfter turning on there is very loud and continous squeeeeeak, and guitar sounds like from fuzz.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
