Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. BJFE Folk Fuzz 3.5%
Another one of John's here, this time for Bjorn's DIY project, the Folk Fuzz. I can't find the original post with Bjorn describing this but I think most people know what it is.
Built it and the audio passthrough was totally clean. Re-seated the transistors in their sockets, and everything works perfectly. What a pleasant surprise. A very nice fuzz. Great work John!
Really like this fuzz because of the overdrive/distortion characteristics. Thinking of building a second one. Are there any suggestions for mods? I see some circuits use green LEDs, germanium transistors or diodes in the second clipping stage. Thanks!
Hmmm.. I recognise that layout ;)
ReplyDeleteGREAT sounding fuzz!
thats a nice sounding fuss, anything special about that 2N2905 or can it be subbed out?
ReplyDeleteYou could use any pnp, like a 2n3906 (That was what I used) or a 2n5087
DeleteCheck out the topic in the forum (contributions - layouts - page 2)
cheers / Fredrik (Freppo)
Thanks Freppo
