Illumist JFET Boost
From Solgrind blog. Simple, but apparently great sounding addition to mini booster pot. And nice reason to source some JFETs with DGS pinout - Just in case you didn't have any :D
Thanks mirosol! I know is not the right place for request but I found nothing for acoustic guitars such as lrbaggs, natural1 fishman preamp or DI preamp stomp for acoustic and could be interesting to find something to try.
you can tag this one, its verified. only thing is that gain 1 should be gain 3. the sweep is backwards as is. other than that, this is a super simple build. sounds good, but to me it sounds pretty much like every other jfet boost. good, but most likely won't make it into a box. then again, thats me, and the next guy might love it. build it for yourself and see.
Everything sounds great, except mine is extremely loud and won't get anywhere near unity gain -- at zero on the pot it's still much louder than the bypassed signal.
Can I use J201?
ReplyDeleteBasically yes. It just has different pinout, so you would need to twist the legs...
