Here's a collection of vero (stripboard) and tagboard guitar and bass effect layouts that we have put together covering many classic and popular effects in growing numbers. Many of these have been posted on freestompboxes.org, so check that site out for great discussions on building your own effect pedals. Dan Armstrong Purple Peaker
Another addition to Dan Armstrong library, The Purple Peaker treble booster. This layout is using two SPDT switches instead of the original setup. You could get closer to the original with using 2PDT, taking the ground to pins 2 & 5, Lo wire to pins 1 & 3, and finally Hi to pin 5 - leaving pin 4 unconnected. Personally i would still go with two individual switches... (Yup i know it's the same text i used for the Yellow Humper :))
I built this last year and forgot to post. I'm pretty sure it worked as is, so will go out on a limb and say tag it!
ReplyDeleteCheers Ian!
DeleteIt is pretty much the same circuit as the verified Yellow Humper.

Can u upload a Video ? i want to make it too but i wanna know how does it sounds like
DeleteEven more useful to ditch the switches and use 2 pots. A50K works good for low.. you need something a bit lower resistance for High.. I've got an A100 in parallel with a resistor to have it down to 40K but there is still a little 'buzzing' when turned all the way up....
ReplyDeleteBuilt this and like it, but is there a way of reducing the amount of low end boost? If I could take it down by a couple of db it would be perfect.
