I built Scruffie's PCB layout of this effect as well. Both versions are quite noisy. I wonder if some additional power filtering would help? I'll have to study this some more. This is a good learning opportunity ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-89037330737462822832016-12-12T22:53:58.451+00:002016-12-12T22:53:58.451+00:00Aisha, check your solders. After a few minutes of use, I hear brief cracks that repeat every second until I stop the power. After switching on the current it is the same process 5 or 10 minutes later ?! After not finding any visible errors on the board, I decided to switch out the multi-turn trimmer for a regular single turn trimmer and oila! It works. Just thought I would add that here in the comments in case anyone else builds it and runs into a similar snag.

I have a tiny, high-pitched whine in the background. I imagine it will go away once this is boxed. I just love these older Electro-Harmonix effects. Thanks a bunch for the layout and the advice.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-88360730633607578312016-11-15T01:55:36.821+00:002016-11-15T01:55:36.821+00:00Thanks for your message, Alex. I have several 3205’s that I tried in there, and they were all tested beforehand. Nothing wrong with the chips, so I'm not sure why it's not echoing. There’s no echo on any part of the bias trimmer. I'm going to go over it with the schematic and check it out against the other verified vero layout on FSB to see if I can get it going. Just thought I would post here in case anyone else built it and encountered a similar issue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-46912786137604398642016-11-07T05:16:39.874+00:002016-11-07T05:16:39.874+00:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-49385178788191619942016-10-04T15:15:04.203+01:002016-10-04T15:15:04.203+01:00What is the difference between a double-tracking e...What is the difference between a double-tracking effect and a chorus effect? Is it simply just the modulation of the delayed signal, which in this pedal is controlled by the 50ms/100ms 2-position switch? Couldn't you modify this circuit just a bit to add continuous fluctuations to the delay time, making this a chorus OR a double-tracking effect?

If I'm way off-base I apologize, I could use some education..

thanks, all!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10575020640579289439noreply@blogger.com
