The others were too near to the overdrive tone. So far the 5088 with 4148 gives the biggest difference between the two modes, even if you loose some volume. I've socketed the resistor so it was a short fix :)
Thorstenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08630556996294071281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-89414024827303421242016-02-01T19:04:26.086+00:002016-02-01T19:04:26.086+00:00Switch behaviour is on par with the original. One could try replacing the 1N4148s with yellow LEDs. That way the drop would be less and distortion texture would be more raw, yet crunchy.
+mmirosolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02400327798106357876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-88509875447462608052016-02-01T19:01:05.457+00:002016-02-01T19:01:05.457+00:00Google/duck duck go. And like i stated, that should not affect the sound at all as it (the 470k resistor in question) only contributes to the behaviour of the input buffer.
+mmirosolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02400327798106357876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-30547029210638390372016-02-01T18:00:13.873+00:002016-02-01T18:00:13.873+00:00This comment has been removed by the author.Thorstenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08630556996294071281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-27180708143294491662016-02-01T17:29:36.700+00:002016-02-01T17:29:36.700+00:00I built this at the weekend and its working. Not sure if that makes that much difference. The forward bias voltage will work, but it's not "correct" when taken from supply.

Either way. Fixed. Gladly, an easy fix. If Thorsten wants to try the fixed layout, just take the said 470k's bottom lead two rows up.
+m mirosolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02400327798106357876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-87968473010495266372016-01-31T09:12:50.559+00:002016-01-31T09:12:50.559+00:00Good to see you back in business, Miro :) I've...Good to see you back in business, Miro :) I've spotted an error maybe though in this one: the 470k resistor from the input buffer's tranny's base goes to +9V in your layout, but to the reference voltage in the schematic I've found (http://www.mudpods.com/Electra_600D.html). The reference voltage would make more sense to me, as on the schematic, but since your layout is already verified, I'm not sure...drdFXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05100895565160403133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-53324037129628491802016-01-30T22:08:47.232+00:002016-01-30T22:08:47.232+00:00Thanks for verifying! Dialing Depht and/or Tone to 100% I hear like gain building up, the some humming then silence. As if something gets overcharged. Really strange behaviour.
