this pedal (together with the Twin Peaks Tap Tremolo) sounds incredible.
I think they both would be a great addition to the website's library.

Does this require a 1790? I'm assuming that video of the 1590BB is with a PCB. Any idea?

Should fit in a 1590BBM or 1590BBT.

I'm probably going to get to work on this one in a few weeks or so. Looking to replace my Uni-vibe clone so I'll probably gut the 1590D I used for it and build this inside of that (should be enough space)
ReplyDeleteA few questions (maybe a little dumb):
1.) I'm assuming the LEDs on the board are just a way to show the optocouplers, right? It doesn't appear to have any actual LEDs on it in the pictures of the PCB version.
2.) In the demo, the second one says that the caps have been offset with Univibe values. I happen to like the sound of that one a little better. Any ideas on how to do this? I see nothing in the build doc on it.
3.) I don't see the transistor-shaped thing marked I/G/O on the vero labeled. I'm I right in assuming this is the 78L05 Voltage regulator?

DeleteIS anybody else getting ticking with the Square shape?
ReplyDeleteI've built the LDR version I posted in the forum, and I'm getting ticking with the Square Wave.
The Trianle & Sine shapes are tick free. There is also some ticking with the Random shape. The Depth control reduces the tick somewhat.
I get the Square Wave ticking even without the LDRs connected, as soon as I plug in any of the 3 LEDs.
Any suggestions?

DeleteI finished this one last night, tested it today. After I put in a resistor that I found I had missed, it fired right up. I tested it with both VTL5C3/2 vactrols and some homemade ones (I used Tayda LDRs and 5mm diffused yellow LEDs). I have to play around some more, but I almost prefer the homemade ones in this circuit. I haven't discovered any ticking yet, but I have only scratched the surface of what this thing can do so far.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome, well-planned layout. Even the off board wiring went smoother than I expected, thanks to most of the wires being located on that one side.
A Sp4t Rotary switch will work, right? As I saw, only half of the 2p4t is being used.
