Just tried bass through it and it quickly went into synthbass territory. If you like that or not is of course up to you. I played a PJ style Yamaha bass, Epi Explorer, and a Yamaha RBXJM2 through it and they all sounded very synthlike.

Low end was a bit lacking (built mine for guitar) so probably go bigger on the input cap, the output cap should in theory be big enough for bass. Also adding a blend as you mentioned, or a gain knob like a Fuzz Face, or just trying out different transistors like high hfe for Q2 instead of Q1 to reduce the hard saturated synthy fuzz would be good. Or do all of that of course :DRangytonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11040328839154409337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-50494746885150978592022-12-29T11:13:38.054+00:002022-12-29T11:13:38.054+00:00I did what I think are two useful mods to mine. Used a 2n2F electrolytic input cap like the Fuzz Face has to get more bass, but I also bypassed the 150k with a 3n9F polyprop cap to tame the high end a bit but as it turns out it had a great effect on noise as well. I started with 500pF and went up gradually (alligator leads hooked to the resistor) and 3n9F sounded good to me. 10nF was too much and 470n totally killed the sound, just had that lying close by and had to try it 🤣

Now it sounds more wooly and doomy which was what I wanted, so try some different cap sizes to find what works for you and the music you play. I used a BC550 as Q1 and 2n3904 as Q2Rangytonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11040328839154409337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-28904822914946216242022-10-08T08:28:21.769+01:002022-10-08T08:28:21.769+01:00This comment has been removed by the author.giudishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03947795301633910036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-40567187665607986002022-10-08T08:20:45.408+01:002022-10-08T08:20:45.408+01:00Adding a blend knob is cool, I've tried 47nF/1...Adding a blend knob is cool, I've tried 47nF/1uFgiudishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03947795301633910036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-24032542932165034522022-08-30T00:08:36.845+01:002022-08-30T00:08:36.845+01:00If you are experiencing The Squeel, replace the 22...If you are experiencing The Squeel, replace the 220pF cap for a 470pF. P...It can't be the transistors, no matter what. Pedal amplifies the signal, and to receive radio you'll need small capacitance, most likely between the wires of the incoming cable. I've seen a lot of those cheap patch cables to grab radio signal. Weak/bad standard guitar cables or even guitar's bad volume pot can do that too. I'd say it's way more likely to be coming from a cable than anything else.
+mmirosolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02400327798106357876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-65724895789863679122017-06-22T15:32:45.299+01:002017-06-22T15:32:45.299+01:00I have another fuzz pedal that uses 3 BC109's ...I have another fuzz pedal that uses 3 BC109's that picks up radio when the gain and volume is up, I suspect that might be the problem.
