Swapped out the 2n5485 (in place of the J201) for a BF244A. Sounds really nice now, the brightness before was a bit harsh. Also ended up swapping the 22K resistor with a 180K one to get a bit more gain with single coils. But now the min-gain is a bit too high (with humbuckers particularly), so I may switch it back, or maybe get a 500K gain pot.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01795772125632055387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-3816153234889723892019-02-23T05:20:47.004+00:002019-02-23T05:20:47.004+00:00Just finished this today. Also, as above Tone 1 and 3 swapped.

Sound's pretty good, very bright. I can't tell a difference between switch positions.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01795772125632055387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-16228471383884648362018-10-06T00:59:35.749+01:002018-10-06T00:59:35.749+01:00Hi! I've used a 2N5457 instead of the J201 and had R1=8,2kOhm to get ~4V on drain. Instead of the BC337 I used 2N5088.

As written above: Tone1 and Tone3 should be swapped. It hasn't been corrected on the layout.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06488029559320827678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6847048658257278783.post-68682082586387234222018-03-20T15:52:55.532+00:002018-03-20T15:52:55.532+00:00Hi,

For the bias resistor I used 12k, to get 4.0V on the drain.
Once I swap in a TL071, I'll compare it to my friend's original! :-)Wannes Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09514382524401254868noreply@blogger.com
