Another great pedal from VFE.
You can find schematic and info on their website here.

  1. Nice one. I watched the video it sounds like a great pedal. Very interesting controls as well. I think the video is wrong. It says asymetrical is more compression. Seeing how uually assymetrical is 3 diodes and symetrical is 2 usually assymetrical has more head room. I guess on this pedal it is the other way since its using 4 diodes for symettrical giving it more forward voltage. man i want to build them all ha ha . Great Job Alex

    3. You can modify a linear pot to emulate log, rev log or w. Info including calculator spreadsheet here

It is not a perfect solution and might not work in some situations

    5. I had to custom order the W taper pot, but there are workarounds. One workaround is to use a antilog pot (100K-500K) that reduces the amount of series resistance as you turn CW. This will act like a saturation control, adding distortion & compression as you turn it CW. Then add a switch to change betweeen different diode configurations. While it takes 1 pot & 1 switch to pull off, these parts are easy to source.

  2. Verified! Used BAT85s for the BA282s and will probably experiment with others. Also used A20k for the Hard and a C1M for the soft. They don't work brilliantly but there good enough. Socketed R11 and C10 and preferred the burn setting so adjusted for that. Cheers Alex & VFE.
