  1. there's is something strange, is the volume lug 3 connected to the Gate of the Fet? maybe v3 must be connected on the upper strip

  2. OK, this one's good to be tagged. Just one thing, the intensity wires need swapping as the pot works back to front at the moment. This is an awesome sounding circuit, really frickin excellent, really more of an overdrive/distortion than a fuzz though. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a nice warm high gain pedal, build it.

    2. No worries, I don't know whether you can help but now that I've boxed it it's got a really loud hum, I've checked the wiring and it's all good and I've never had a jump in hum volume after boxing, normally it's the other way around. Any ideas? It still sounds awesome by the way, I just need to kill that hum.

    3. Usually points to a bad ground or double ground loop... Shielded jacks?

    4. Thanks man, problem solved it was a dodgy connection on the gain pot to ground, I think the copper strip had lifted and broken the contact.

  3. Any chance that I could use some other IC for this?

    1. You could try on any single opamp, like TL071 or LM741.

    2. I used a TL071, it sounds ace. The leds flash when you play hard so you can mount them on the enclosure in place of the indicator leds too.

    3. That sounds like fun. I have some TL's in stock. I just didn't feel like waiting for Tayda. Thanks

  4. Hello.
I'm from Brazil and would like to know if the above layout is updated because I want to build it. I would also like to know which transistor I can use to replace J201 once I do not know if I will find it here where I live. To finish I ask if the LEDs have to be of the same color? Thanks in advance for any response / information.
